About This Site
"Then you will lift up your face without shame; you will stand firm and without fear. You will surely forget your trouble,
recalling it only as waters gone by. Life will be brighter than noonday, and darkness will become like morning." - Job 11:15-17
This site began in March of 2000. I'm not sure why I started the site. I had just opened a
Freepages account at RootsWeb.com. Was supposed to be unlimited space. So I thought I could
build webpages to my heart's content. At some point I made the decision to start this site in
addition to my genealogy pages. Later on this site needed to be moved to the domain I'd just
acquired...RootsWeb deleted the folder that hosted this site, without warning, so this site was
at Nativeinsanity.com. After that it was at Healingrain.info, and now it is at it's current
place.
The site has grown bigger and bigger over the years. There are times, during my own hurting and
desperation through the healing process, that, I considered taking the site down. You, the
visitors, keep me going. Your emails and PMs with your stories, or you telling me that you were
helped either in a personal way, or an academic way, make it clear this site needs to stay.
:)
This site would not exist with your help, your experiences, and your emails, so please feel
free to email me with any comments,
questions, suggestions you may have.
About Emails: This is just me and my little site, and I do my best to answer your emails. There
are times (like when the semester has just started, or I'm feeling rather depressed myself) where
I have trouble answering emails on time, but for the most part, I do reply! So if you have a
question, have or suggestions to make, some content you think I should add, or maybe you just
would like a word of encouragement, then feel free to email me! ;) Or to return to the main page,
Now to address you on a more personal level:
To Survivors:
If you are here looking for information on your healing, I welcome you with open arms. Your
pain is my pain. We have suffered in silence long enough, and this site is here to provide you
with infomation and a human touch. To assist in any way possible, your recovery. I invite you
to explore these resources carefully and safely. I ask you give me your feedback on what was
helpful to you, and what I can change/add to, to better assist survivors. I appreciate you, and
your will to heal. I sincerely hope to see you whole one day.
A Note For Male Survivors:
I realize this site is very feminine in appearance, and has a webmistress as opposed to a webmaster, but I believe you can
find some helpful information here! I will soon begin the process of working on a section for male survivors. I need to plan
on what kinds of information I can gather for you all, I need to interview many male survivors of CSA and other types of
abuse, etc. If you'd like to make some suggestions, please email me!
To Secondary Survivors:
If you are here looking for information for your survivor loved one, I thank you. One of the
biggest things we need as survivors is someone to believe in us, and stand by our side. By look
ing for this information, you are doing just that. I hope that you find what you are looking for
here, and I wish the best for you and your loved one. You are in this journey together, and
will get there together!
To Researchers:
If you are doing research, I thank you for chosing the topic of violence and abuse. By doing
that you are helping bring it to light, and more survivors can come foreward and begin to heal.
Please let me know what you could benefit from seeing here. If you would like to use my story,
poetry, or other writings, please
contact me, and I will be happy to grant
permission.
