Ecclesiastes7:9- Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.

Def.-A feeling of great displeasure or hostility: wrath.

The word anger is commonly used in connection with two other words: frustration and aggression. Generally speaking, when a person is angry, he becomes frustrated, then expresses his frustration in some sort of aggressive behavior.

Anger, everybody has this emotion. Psalm 90:11-(God-old testament), Mark 11:15-(Jesus-in the temple) Psychologists say in a human span of life we go through several stages. As infancy, babyhood, early childhood, late childhood, adolescence and then maturity.

One of the first emotions to we express is anger. The baby quickly learns that anger gets the attention he wants. The child ordinarily expresses it by screaming, waving his arm, holding breath, throwing him self on the floor, hitting, kicking, or even biting.

As we grow older and reach some degree of maturity, anger is generally expressed in a more violent way. As we mature, we express anger in two basic ways: vocally and physically. When expressing you anger vocally, be careful. Matthew 15:18-(could -defile- make dirty, pollute, corrupt you)

ANGER:
Ephesians 4:26- Be ye angry, and sin not: let not the sun go down upon your wrath:

. Four forms of anger.

· Revenge: Cain and Abel, Samson and Philistines, Absalom and Amnon (David's sons)-you can hurt him more than he hurt you.
· Retribution: Esau and Jacob, Joseph and his brethren, Saul and David- you can hurt him to the same degree.
· Indifference: All people of different beliefs (Religions)
· Forgiveness: A Chris-like way. (Luke 11:4, 17:3,4)

2. Anger is emotional immaturity in you and in your faith, also affecting your relationship with God.

3. Anger can be costly.
· To health
· To family and friends.
· To testimony (sinning)

4. How Does Anger Affect Us?
· Anger makes us behave like a fool. (Ecclesiastes 7:9)
· Anger leads to rage. (Job 18:4,)
· Anger brings punishment. (Matthew 5:22)

5. How Can We Overcome Anger? (Proverbs 15:1)
· Kill your enemy with kindness. (Romans 12:17)
· Overcome evil with good. (Romans 12:21)
· Prayer, love, and hospitality are strong antidotes to anger. (Matthew 5:43-45)
