Hi I am Peter Carmine-White
I have the right and need to express my conscience opinion
My website is about my mother who was innocent of worldly temptations
and how at the young tender age of 15years it seems that some how
she became pregnant whilst in the trusted care of Nazareth House
Catholic Orphanage Christchurch, New Zealand
My website is about my mother
who was innocent of worldly temptations
and how at the young tender age of 15years it
seems that some how she became pregnant whilst in the trusted care
of Nazareth House Catholic Orphanage Christchurch, New Zealand
This heavily involves me and also my family I am seeking answers for the truth pertaining
to what occurred approximately three months to the date of her fathers death
which was on the 15 of September 1940
By the early December of 1940 somehow someone subjected the now Orphaned
young Dorothy (Dora) Carmine to the unlawful act of Carnal Knowledge of which I am to
he product and it seems the Police don't seem to have received a complaint lodged
in the interest of this Orphaned Girl Child whose cherished mother had unfortunately
died in the June of 1934
It seems there were no boys at Nazareth House and it had been alleged by distant relatives to
hat my father was a Catholic priest Nazareth House has not produced any recorded
documentation to prove my mothers pregnancy occurred else where and for that matter
neither have the Welfare with whom Nazareth House in 1941 were required
to adhere to the then Child Welfare Act 1925 and it's Amendments Act 1927
Catholic Orphanages were bound by that then Child Welfare Act which gave the manager
of an Orphanage the same powers as the then Superintendent of the then Child Welfare Division
had over children in State Care There was no license of impunity for either party not to involve
the Police in this serious matter of what is now termed Sexual Abuse by way of Carnal Knowledge
of a child in the trusted care of the Sisters at Nazareth House is extremely difficult to comprehend
The then Child Welfare Act classified any person under the age of seventeen years as a child
I am of the opinion a then Child Welfare Officer should have spent time observing
the Nazareth House Register or which ever mode of recording methods
were used regarding a residents outing and by whom they were escorted
it must have been necessary to establish into whose care Dorothy (Dora) Carmine
had been entrusted on or about the time of conception and either way I think the then
Child Welfare should have ensured Police involvement and themselves retained
credible documentation for obvious reasons
I think both parties should have a record identifying the person with whom Nazareth House
arranged to receive my maintenance payments from as it seems the then
Sisters at Nazareth House passed those maintenance payments to the Licensed Foster Home
I would think the then Child Welfare Department would have required documented evidence
to substantiate payer was honoring their obligation it seems that person
had made with the then Sisters at Nazareth House
It also seems fair to think the payer must have been known to at least be trustworthy
with the ability to adhere to the agreement in which it seems the then Sisters had entered
by way of accepting payments from the payer
As I tell you about her. It seems twelve days after my birth my mother
was admitted to Mt Magdala I have no idea how she may havestruggled
with what is in my view it seems she may have been paying her penance
by becoming an inmate at Mt Magdala
How I have tried to find my family roots and the identity of
who my birth father was?for myself, my children and my grand children
In not only my view it seems there must have been a specific reason
why the then Child Welfare Act may have perhaps been ignored be
by seemingly not involving the Police in such a serious matter
