A Directory of Online Support Groups
The following are various groups to help you in recovery. They are not meant to replace professional help, but they are
great supplements to professional help, and/or they can help you to branch out and prepare to seek offline assistance if

Message Boards:
- Pandora's Aquarium ~ Ahhh, the mother of all sexual abuse message board support
groups. Very, very helpful in a myriad of ways. Includes many forums for a wide variety of survivor & aftermath issues.
It is one of the bigger boards out there, but if you persevere and keep participating, you will receive a lot of love and
support. I feel close to many at this forum. Ohh -- before I forget, one little detail you may like; you are able to
keep a diary at Pandys, hosted by Pandys, and you can share your entries with others, or you can keep them to yourself.
- After Silence ~ Another great sexual abuse/assault forum. This one has
a little less people, but is on par with Pandys, and is just as loving and supportive. My dear Donna is a moderator there.
- Perfectly Still ~ A lovely board with supportive
survivors.
- Silent-Screams ~ Support for those suffering from eating
disorders. There is an area there to discuss abuse related issues.
- Christian Survivors ~ Excellent support site with many different kinds of helpful forums for those
of the Christian faith. Also includes a small groups ministry.
- Eating Disorders Anonymous ~ 12 step program for eating disorder
sufferers. Has offline meanings in select locations, but they also have scheduled chats! I fou
- MaleSurvivor ~ From what I hear, this is a very helpful board for male
survivors of sexual abuse & assault.
- Rainbow Hope ~ Support for lesbian rape survivors. Allows you to keep diaries!
- Rape & Suicide Crisis Help ~ General discussions about rape
recovery. Not a whole lot of properly trigger marked posts, I've noticed, however, so be forewarned.
- Broken Spirits ~ Has many good forums on a number of abuse issues. It
also includes a forum on bullying & hazing, and a forum dealing with men's perspectives and opposition to abuse. Please note
that all posts are available for anyone to see.
- Mended Wings -- Message board for survivors of any kind of child abuse,
features a forum for healing through poetry.
- Angels of a Golden Sky -- Support for survivors of child abuse.
- Abuse Survivors Chat -- Nice site with well defined guidelines for your
protection, chat rooms and forums for different intensity levels of discussion and more. Includes chat and forums.
- TatteredxTornxBroken -- New message board
for survivors of sexual violence. Donna from Surviving the Memories is one of the mods!
- Bodies Under Siege -- Bodies Under Siege is a great site for recovery from
self-injury. The site includes message board, chat, and mailist.
- Advocacy For You -- Peer support message board for self-injurers and
sufferers of eating disorders.
- Flying Free -- Lindsay gives the following description
of her board: "Its for those who are survivors and those who have eating disorders and such. It also has a part for mental
health. Like bi-polar and depression. I am not done adding forums and such. I think mine focuses on eating disorders a
little more..."
- The Lighthouse Sanctuary -- This forum includes special gender oriented
forums for male survivors to talk out their issues with male survivors, and female survivors to talk things over with
female survivors. It also includes a secondary survivors forum, a journaling forum, and more.
- Christian Forums -- Christian Forums is a general Christian board (with
room for just about any denomination) which includes a "Recovery" series of forums including for survivors of abuse, sexual
assault, any crime, etc.
- Live Love Chat is a general women's board which includes an abuse
survivor forum, a mental health board, a grief recovery board, and more.
- Healing Wounds -- Tracy's board, which
includes a great deal of good forums, for child abuse/bullying, domestic violence, sexual abuse, aftermath issues, and
much more. She has a good little community going!
- Be Silent No More -- Has forums for different types of abuse. Fairly
new board. Keep checking back!
- Healing Angels Survivors -- Full mental health survivors support forum.
With lots of support for everyone, from mental health support, to survivors support and personal issues support too. Also
contains a chat box. 100+ forums. Everyone welcome!
Mailists:
- Rape Recovery @ Hope For Healing ~ Mailist associated
with Hope For Healing, a Christian charity that assists survivors. It is moderated by HFH's founder, Gayle Crabtree. Please
note, the mailist is high volume, and has many many subscribers. If you are hoping for more individualized attention, this
may not be your best bet. But if you are looking for a lot of perspectives, and frequent mail, then this is a good one.
- Rape Survivors @ Hope For Healing ~ Another mailist
associated with Hope For Healing.
- Soul's Self Help Mailists ~ This site has a bunch of mental
health mailists, for bipolar, PTSD, etc.
- Relate To A Teen Today ~ Mailist
moderated by my friend Alicia. Offers support to teens for the variety of issues they face, including abuse. I have joined
to pitch in what help I can!
- Clear Skies ~ New mailist by Kate for survivors of
sexual assault!
Chat:
